White powder believed to be heroin weighing 2490 grams, 440 stimulant tablets and mitragyna speciosa weighing 16 grams were seized in Mogok Township, Mandalay Region yesterday morning.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team led by Police Sub-Inspector Maung Maung Htwe, Police Inspector Win Min Tun of Anti-Drugs Squad-16 and Captain Khine Min Tun of No. 95 Infantry Regiment searched a PAJERO driven by Ba Yan Sai of Nawngkhio, 42 and Mar Dwe (a) Zaw Dwe, 24 onboard the car and seized 440 stimulant tablets, 2490 grams of white powder believed to be heroin and 16 grams of mitragyna speciosa worth over K 240 million.
The Mogyoke Myoma Police Station has filed charges against them under the Anti-Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. – Kyaw Zay Yar Myint (Mgyoke)
