Yangon 18 January

With the aims of upgrading investment opportunities and connecting local entrepreneurs with foreign investors, the Rakhine State Investment Exhibition will be held at the Ngapali Beach Resort, said Ko Nyarna Soe, senior research executive from Myanmar Survey Research (MSR).

“Equitable development in every region and state is included in the twelve National Economic Policy formulated by new government. However, only Yangon and Mandalay witness foreign direct investment (FDI). Therefore, investment exhibition is being held to attract FDI” he added.

Under the arrangement of Rakhine State government, the exhibition will be organized with the sponsorship of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Myanmar Survey Research Co., Ltd. and other companies from 21 to 23 February.

The first day of exhibition will include Rakhine traditional dance and entertainment, the second day, respective booths, investment discussions of entrepreneurs, signing of MoU and roundtable discussions. Those present will observe the investment industry in Ngapali beach, fishery businesses and export of fishery products on the third day of the event.

The survey concerning investment in Rakhine State was made by MSR from November to December last year in order to hold the exhibition. The findings of survey based on economic opportunities in Rakhine State will be issued at the exhibition.
