Slight earthquake shakes near Kalewa, no casualties reported

No immediate reports of damages or casualties were available following a slight earthquake near KalewaTownship, Sagaing Region which was recorded early this morning, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) announced.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter inside Myanmar jolted about 12 miles north-northeast of Kalewa Township, Sagaing Region. It was recorded at 8:47 a.m. today at latitude of 23.38°N, and longitude of 94.34°E, with a depth of 27 kilometers and about 58 miles south of the Tamu seismological observatory, the DMH said.—DMH
