THE CB-KMA Foundation is actively carrying out relief efforts in areas affected by the earthquake in Mandalay Region, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, and Bago Region, according to the foundation.

 

The foundation has donated K5 million to Toungoo General Hospital, where victims from Toungoo and surrounding areas – including Ottwin, Yedashe, Penwegon, Kywepwe, and Kyaukdaga — are receiving medical treatment for earthquake- related injuries. Additionally, financial assistance of K500,000 per person has been provided to 45 injured individuals.

 

Furthermore, the CB-KMA Foundation has supported the families of those who lost their lives when a monastery building collapsed at Wailuwun Sasana Yeiktha in Toungoo Township. The families of one novice and five children who perished each received 1 million kyats, while an injured child received K100,000. Similarly, the families of five men who died when the ceiling collapsed at Kandaw Mosque in Toungoo’s Ward 11 during prayers were each given K1 million. The foundation has also donated K38.6 million to places in urgent need in Toungoo. These relief operations are being carried out with the support of CB Bank, Myanmar Metro Bank, KMA Group of Companies, and Channel K, which are providing machinery and skilled workers. CB-KMA Foundation Chairman U Khin Maung Aye is leading the initiative, with an initial fund of 10 billion kyats allocated for relief efforts. — ASH/KNN
