Farmers in Kyunhla Township, Kanbalu District of the Sagaing Region, have completed the cultivation of 34,480 acres of oilseed crops during this winter crop-growing season, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

The Township Agriculture Department had set a target to plant oilseed crops on 34,864 acres, including 13,896 acres of groundnut, 14,033 acres of sesame, 1,236 acres of sunflower, 5,342 acres of niger, and 357 acres of mustard plants during this cold season.

"In this cold season, the target was to plant oilseed crops on 34,864 acres in the entire township, and as of now, cultivation of 34,480 acres has already been completed," said Daw Myint Myint Yee, head of the Township Department of Agriculture. "Currently, officials from the Department of Agriculture are providing guidance and knowledge on agricultural practices to farmers," she added.

So far, 34,480 acres of oilseed crops, or 98.89% of the target, have been completed, including 13,896 acres of groundnut, 14,033 acres of sesame, 1,236 acres of sunflower, 5,342 acres of niger, and 357 acres of mustard plants, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.— Myo Win Nyo (Kyunhla)
