Officials from Mongpan Township Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, conducted a field inspection to assess the upgrade of the Mongpan-Konkyaing gravel road to an asphalt road, using the Union (Pyidaungsu) funds allocated for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
The asphalt road which is a 3-furlong long, 12-foot wide and and 9-inch thick. The project is being carried out by the tender-winning construction company, with K. 107.38 million allocated for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. During the inspection, officials met with representatives from the construction company and urged them to adhere to the required standards, emphasizing the importance of quality construction and proper maintenance.
Currently, approximately 90 percent of the work has been completed. Upon completion, the upgraded road will benefit 313 local residents from 78 households across two villages, according to the Linkhe District Department of Rural Development.—Maung Khaing (DRD)
