A refresher training course for auxiliary firefighters was launched this morning at the of office of the District Fire Services Department in Thaton, Mon State, with the aim of enhancing fire safety and improving natural disaster protection, search, and rescue operations.
The opening speech was delivered by U Zaw Moe Soe, Chairman of the Township Administration Body. Following this, U Ye Nyunt Htway, the fire chief of the Township Fire Services Department, outlined the objectives and schedule for the training.
Members of the Township Administration Body also presented fire uniforms to the auxiliary firefighters and offered words of encouragement.
The one-month training course is being attended by 50 auxiliary firefighters from various wards and villages in the township. The trainees will receive both practical and theoretical instruction on handling rescue and relief equipment throughout the course.—District IPRD
