THE government provides necessary assistance for indi­viduals from PDF and other armed groups who return to the legal fold. A total of nine AA members and six PDF members who understand the peace process of the State and Tatmadaw returned to the legal fold, bringing along arms and ammunition.

 

Nine AA members from Minbya, Kyauktaw, Ponnagyun, Thandwe and Gwa townships and six PDF members from Maubin, Laymyethna, Zalun, Kyangin and Yekyi townships who returned to the legal fold were welcomed by officials and handed over to their parents.

 

Yesterday afternoon, Ay­eyawady Region Chief Min­ister U Tin Maung Win and Commander of South-West Command Maj-Gen Soe Kyaw Htet explained the peace and stability of the region, and provisions of laws. Those who returned to the legal fold pre­sented two automatic rifles and one grenade brought along with them to the commander. The Chief Minister, the commander and officials presented K10 mil­lion for two rifles and K300,000 for one grenade and K300,000 each to 15 persons who returned to the legal fold. They signed the consent and were handed over to their parents. It has been learned that there are still indi­viduals who wish to return to the legal fold for reunification with families. — MNA/TTA
