THE 1,500th Anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday ceremony was held at Sky Star Hotel yesterday, led by the Central Committee for the 1,500th Anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday ceremony of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
The event was attended by special guests from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, the Yangon Region chief minister, officials from the Yangon Region government, officials from the Egyptian Embassy and many other organizations and guests.
The congratulatory message from U Tin Oo Lwin, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, was read out by U Aye Tun, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture.
The 1,500th Anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday is a special day for Muslims, and the occasion marks the 1,500th anniversary of the birthday of their prophet, Prophet Muhammad. Therefore, the congratulatory message was sent on the occasion of the 1,500th anniversary of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, the leader of the Muslims. The congratulatory message states that it is a good tradition to be able to hold religious festivals. In addition, according to the Constitution, the government provides necessary assistance to hold the religious festivals of the four major religions practised by the people living in Myanmar.
Afterwards, Dr Ahmed Abdallah Mahmoud Atiya Eltahlawy, Charge d’Affaires ad interim, the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt, delivered a speech of congratulations, officials from the Central Committee for the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday addressed a speech on the life of the Prophet, and the first prize winners of the Islamic Religious Literature competition were honoured. — GNLM/MKKS
