THE 15th annual homage cer­emony for senior musicians of the Myanmar Music Association (Central) was held yesterday afternoon at Dolphin Hall in Ba­han Township, Yangon. Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, together with his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and fam­ily, donated K10 million.

 

The ceremony was attend­ed by Deputy Minister for Infor­mation U Ye Tint, Yangon Re­gion Minister for Social Affairs U Htay Aung, Chairman of the Myanmar Motion Pictures Asso­ciation U Kyi Soe Tun, Chairman of the Myanmar Music Associ­ation (Central) U Lwin Myint and executive members, as well as senior musicians and guests from the music, film, literature and theatre fields.

 

Deputy Minister U Ye Tint and Yangon Region Minister for Social Affairs U Htay Aung de­livered congratulatory remarks.

 

Next, the Chairman of the Myanmar Music Association (Central) gave a vote of thanks, and the General Secretary ex­plained the donations received for the ceremony.

 

The Deputy Minister then presented the K10 million do­nation made by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and family, which was received by the Chairman of the Myanmar Music Association (Central).

 

He also presented a do­nation of K3 million from the Ministry of Information, K15.6 million from the Yangon Region Government, and K1 million from the Yangon Region Union Solidarity and Development Party. Additional cash dona­tions from other donors were also received by the Chairman of the Myanmar Music Associ­ation (Central), and certificates of appreciation were presented in return.

 

Afterwards, the attendees paid respects to 156 veteran musicians and presented them with cash and gifts.

 

Finally, Sithu Daw Tin Tin Mya delivered words of advice on behalf of the veteran musi­cians. — MNA/MKKS
