Authorities seized 171.6 kilograms of heroin worth around Ks 4.29 billion in Yamethin Township, Mandalay Region, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint security team intercepted two vehicles being loaded with soap containers filled with heroin. Three suspects — Tin Moe, Yazar Htun, and Kyaw Lwin Oo — were arrested along with 22 others, including Phoe Paing from Kalaw Township, involved in loading the drugs.
Investigations revealed the heroin was ordered for transport from Kalaw to Yamethin, and then onward to Mandalay, by a suspect still at large, identified as Kyu Kyu Myint. Authorities confirmed legal action is underway and efforts are ongoing to track down the remaining individuals involved in the drug network.— MNA
