THE ceremony to mark the 51st Anniversary of Rakhine State Day and to confer honorary titles was organized at U Ottama Hall in Sittway Township yesterday.

 

The ceremony was attended by U Aung Lin Dwe, Executive Chief of the National Defence and Security Council Office, Union Ministers Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, U Min Naung, U Hla Moe, Dr Char­lie Than and Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, NDSC Central Advisory Body Members Mahn Nyein Maung and Dr Hmuh Thang, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, other relevant offi­cials and invitees.

 

After the opening ceremony, NDSC Executive Chief U Aung Lin Dwe read out the message sent by Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myan­mar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing to the ceremony to mark the 51st Anniversary of Rakhine State Day. The Rakhine State chief minister also delivered a speech.

 

The documentary video featuring regional development programmes was then screened.

 

The Executive Chief, Union ministers, the chief minister and officials conferred civil service awards and honorary titles and outstanding awards in various sectors, such as administration, industrial economiy, and social affairs. Afterwards, the Rakhine traditional dance troupe per­formed song and dance enter­tainment.

 

The Executive Chief cordial­ly greeted the recipients of hon­orary awards and attendees, and presented cash prizes to the mu­sic band and cheerleading group.

 

At noon, he met town elders and business people at the guest­house of the Rakhine State gov­ernment office and discussed re­gional development programmes.

 

He then paid homage to Maha Zeya Theikdhi Adheikhtan Sayadaw and Shwe Zedi Sayad­aw.

 

In the evening, he joined the dinner event marking the 51st An­niversary of Rakhine State Day at Khine Thazin hall, and watched the performance of the Rakhine traditional dance troupe. — MNA/ KTZH
