According to the statistics released by Meiktila Township Department of Agriculture, 9,953 acres of rain fed rice have been cultivated in Meiktila Township of Mandalay Region in 2024-2025 FY.

The Township authorities have earmarked to grow 13061 acres of paddy in this year’s monsoon season. Rain fed rice has been cultivated since the first week of August this year and so far, 9,953 acres have been cultivated.

Out of 9,953 acres of rain fed rice, 600 acres including 100 acres in Htamunkan village tract, 100 acres in Tawma village tract, 50 acres in Khinlu village tract, 30 acres in Shante village tract, 50 acres in Kaphyu village tract, 30 acres in Zaungchankon village tract and 150 acres in Kwe village tract in Meiktila Township were grown with the State economic promotion fund, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.—Thein Myint Kyaw (District IPRD)
