Senior General Min Aung Hlaing joins President Mr Xi Jinping and world leaders at the 80^th anniversary parade in Beijing, where they attended the Guard of Honour salute, commemorative events, and held talks on strengthening cooperation.

ACTING President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Senior Gen­eral Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently in Beijing of the People’s Republic of China at the invitation of President of the People’s Republic of China Mr Xi Jinping, attended the parade to mark the 80^th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War at the Tianan­men Square in Beijing at 8 am Chinese standard time yesterday.

Present at the parade were Mr Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Re­public of China, Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Repub­lic of the Union of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, invited Heads of State, governments, members of the high-level Myanmar delegation and the Chinese people.

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Repub­lic of the Union of Myanmar and Heads of State took the salute of the Guard of Honour of the People’s Republic of Chi­na and took designated places. The President of PRC cordially greeted them individually.

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Repub­lic of the Union of Myanmar and Heads of State had docu­mentary photos taken together with the PRC President.

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Repub­lic of the Union of Myanmar and Heads of State, led by the PRC President, took positions at the Tiananmen Rostrum.

The PRC President deliv­ered an address at the com­memorative parade and in­spected the parade columns by car. The parade columns marched past the PRC Pres­ident and Heads of State in a military parade procedure.

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Repub­lic of the Union of Myanmar and Heads of State attended the luncheon hosted by the PRC President.

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Repub­lic of the Union of Myanmar cordially held talks with Heads of State from the People’s Republic of China, the Dem­ocratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Indonesia, the Republic of Malaysia, the Re­public of Armenia among oth­er attendees to the parade to discuss cooperation measures. — MNA/TTA
