The multiparty demo­cratic general election 2025 of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was held nationwide, starting at 6 am yesterday, with all eligible voters casting their ballots at their respective polling stations.

 

Acting President of the Re­public of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Sen­ior General Min Aung Hlaing, together with Commission Vice-Chairman Deputy Com­mander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Secretary of the Commis­sion General Ye Win Oo and his wife, Commission member Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin and his wife, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, Tatmadaw members and families, cast votes at the polling station No 1 in Anawrahta Ward of Zeyathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

 

After casting the votes, the Senior General responded to queries raised by domestic and international media, as they were currently gathering elec­tion information at the polling station.

The Senior General, the Secretary of the Commission, alongside his accompanying dig­nitaries, observed the voting of eligible voters at relevant polling stations in Zeyathiri, Pyin­mana, Ottarathiri and Pobbathiri townships in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area and cordially greeted them.

 

Likewise, the Senior General frankly greeted election observers from the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, Kazakhstan and Belarus who monitored the voting process of the people at the No 2 polling station in Ywakauk Ward, Pyinmana Township, and had documentary photos taken with those observers. — MNA/TTA
