The awareness talks on an­ti-trafficking in persons and a spelling competition were held at the Community Cen­tre of Information and Pub­lic Relations Department in Thegon Township, Natalin District of Bago Region yes­terday.

 

The events aim to raise the knowledge of students re­garding the anti-trafficking in persons.

 

First, township IPRD department head Daw Wint Nandar Htay highlighted the purpose of an event for the students regarding Anti-traf­ficking in Persons Day, which falls on 13 September, defi­nition of human trafficking, different types of human traf­ficking in Myanmar, methods of human traffickers, suspi­cious persons, physical and mental impacts of being traf­ficked and legal punishments.

 

During the middle-school level Myanmar spelling com­petition, the officials present­ed awards to the students who won the multiple-choice section of Myanmar words. Then, the students observed the wall newspaper about anti-trafficking in persons, books and publications.
