Mong Yawng, 18 July

A painting competition commemorating the 78th Martyrs’ Day was held this morning at the children’s reading room of the Department of Information and Public Relations in Mong Yawng Township, Shan State (East).

The event began with opening remarks by U Sai Aung Zaw Lin, Staff Officer of the Department of Information and Public Relations. Deputy Staff Officer Daw Nan Pang then briefed participants on the rules and regulations of the competition.

A total of 35 students from basic education schools in the township took part in the contest. Prizes were awarded to the winners by Daw Nan Si Phong and other departmental officials.— Sai Aung Zaw Lin
