MYANMAR’S avocado cosmetics are aimed at the Chinese market, according to the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization.

Those cosmetics need to comply with the Special Cosmetics and General Cosmetics Regulation of the Cosmetic Supervision and Administration Regulation (CSAR) to penetrate the Chinese market.

Myanmar and China have agreed to practise Remote Video Inspection for pest risk analysis of fresh avocado.

Processed goods (avocado oil, frozen pulp, beverages) are required to be registered through the CIFER system of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC).

Avocado has been grown in Myanmar for the last 75 years, mainly in Shan State, Chin State, Sagaing Region and PyinOoLwin, of Mandalay Region. Avocados are rich in vitamins and 20 minerals. Avocado has become popular due to its health benefits so stakeholders in the supply chain are making efforts to boost avocado exports. — ASH/KK
