The Anti-Corruption Commis­sion and the Ministry of Defence jointly organized an awareness seminar on anti-corruption in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Defence Ad­miral Tin Aung San spoke on the occasion that the anti-corruption strategic plan (2022-2025) contain­ing the prevention of corruption, education programmes and in­vestigations was drafted in the country.

 

He highlighted the directives of the SAC Chairman Prime Min­ister made during the 2022 Inter­national Anti-Corruption Day cer­emony regarding the enormous impacts of corruption on State development and stability, spirit and character of people, enact­ment of the Anti-Corruption Law on 7 August 2013 to take action against corruptions, prevention and educating programmes to build a society that totally oppos­es corruption and to eradicate the corruptions.

 

He also stressed the critical role of government employees in the governance system, the decline of the capacity of the gov­ernment if corruption is on the rise among the employees, and huge threats on the country and people if the spreading bribery and misuse of power is not curbed in time, and urged the govern­ment employees to serve duties for public without fear or favour.

 

The ACC chairman also briefed the holding of awareness programmes on anti-corruption and urged the staff to serve their duties honestly.

 

Attendees then discussed the anti-corruption measures. — MNA/KTZH
