IN the five months from 1 April to 9 September of 2025-2026 financial year, the Bagan Archaeological Museum has received a total of , 10,953 visitors and K 11 million entrance fees, according to the museum’s official.

 

During that period, the museum earned K10.86 million from 10,860 local visitors and K930,000 from 93 foreigners, totalling K11.79 million.

 

“Tourist arrival is less in the rainy season. Now, it is open season and more tourists are coming. It is more crowded on festivals and public holidays,” he said.

 

In September, the museum earned K 4.39 million from 4,130 locals and 26 foreigners. Most foreign tourists are from China, Japan, Indonesia, Germany, Spain, Korea, Malaysia, and Canada, ac­cording to the statistics of the museum.

 

The Bagan Archaeological Museum is open daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm except Mondays and public holidays. The entrance fee is set at K 1,000 per domestic tourist, K 10,000 per foreign tourist and is free for monks, children under 12 years and students with the school recommendation letter.

 

From April to March of 2024-2025 financial year, the museum collected K 64.038 million from 59,133 local and foreign visitors. — MT/ZN
