A Belarusian entertainment troupe led by musician and sing­er Mr Vladimir Sukolinsky, who is currently visiting Myanmar, toured several landmarks in Yan­gon yesterday morning.

 

The troupe first visited the National Museum, where they observed the royal regalia exhi­bition halls and other displays, and signed the museum’s guest record book. They then visited Bogyoke Aung San Market, where they explored the area and bought souvenirs.

 

Afterwards, the group visit­ed the sacred Botahtaung Pago­da and the Chaukhtetgyi Reclin­ing Buddha Image, where they took commemorative photos with worshippers in a cheerful atmosphere. They also toured the Bago River Crossing Bridge (Thanlyin Bridge No 3) by car.

 

The troupe had previously performed at the National The­atre in Yangon on the evening of 11 October and viewed the decorative lighting displays at the Yangon People’s Square to mark the Thadingyut Festival.

 

They also gave performanc­es in Mandalay City Hall on the evening of 5 October, at the con­vocation hall of the Defence Ser­vices Technological Academy in PyinOoLwin on the evening of 6 October, and at the University of Foreign Languages in Yan­gon on 10 October. It is learnt that the troupe will continue to participate in the upcoming Myanmar-Russia-Belarus joint entertainment programme in Nay Pyi Taw. — MNA/KZL
