Chaungzon, 8 August

In Chaungzon Township, Mon State, the Township Agriculture Department has reported significant progress toward its 2025 rainy season rice planting target. Out of the planned 65,309 acres of rain-fed rice, 64,143 acres have been planted as of 8 August — achieving 98.21 percent of the goal.

The initiative aims to enhance food security and boost agricultural productivity in the region. To help farmers improve yields through high-quality rice cultivation, officials from the Department of Agriculture are actively conducting field visits. These visits provide technical support on modern farming techniques, proper use of natural fertilizers, and pest control methods.

According to the Township Agriculture Department, officials are working closely with farmers to ensure timely planting and to potentially exceed the seasonal target.— Ko Kyaw (Chaungzon)
