Chaungzon, 16 May

The Township Agriculture Department has announced plans to cultivate 65,309 acres of rain-fed paddy in Chaungzon Township, Mon State this year, as part of efforts to ensure food security and boost agricultural productivity for local farmers.

As of 16 May, 5,335 acres of rain-fed paddy have already been planted.

To support farmers in achieving this target, officials from the Department of Agriculture are conducting field visits to provide technical assistance. Their support includes guidance on proper planting techniques, the effective use of natural fertilizers, and pest prevention strategies. These efforts aim to help farmers plant on schedule and potentially exceed the township's planting goal, according to the Township Agriculture Department.— Ko Kyaw (Chaungzon)
