SHAN State Chief Minister U Aung Aung met departmental personnel and residents at the Hsipaw Township Hall yester­day morning to discuss the im­plementation of reconstruction projects in Hsipaw, Shan State (North).

At the meeting, Chief Min­ister U Aung Aung called on departmental personnel and local people to work together in close cooperation with the government to restore Hsipaw to its original condition. Basic food and drinking supplies were also distributed to the residents.

Following this, the chief minister met township-level departmental officials at the Hsipaw Township Development Affairs Office and stressed the importance of ensuring educa­tion, healthcare, transport and road connectivity, and the avail­ability of essential goods. He also instructed that priority be given to initial tasks that need to be addressed first.

The chief minister then of­fered words of encouragement to patients receiving treatment at Hsipaw People’s Hospital, provided nutritious food and refreshments, observed the hospital’s mobile clinic and the vaccination of children, and pre­sented monetary awards to the hospital’s doctors and nurses.

Following this, at the Kon­etaw Monastery in Hsipaw, the chief minister held talks with officials from the Department of Immigration, engaging with residents regarding household population registration and the issuance of citizenship scrutiny cards. They also met firefighters from the Township Fire Servic­es Department, offered words of encouragement and presented monetary awards.

Later, at the Shwe Zedi Monastery, respect was paid to the resident monks, and dona­tions of ceremonial items and contributions for religious rites were made.

The chief minister also vis­ited the Shwezedi Monastery to pay homage to the monks and offer donations.

Afterwards, at the Myoma Police Station in Zatzu Ward, the Chief Minister presented mone­tary awards to members of the police force. He also visited the Township General Administra­tion Department and the Prison Department, offering words of encouragement to staff and pre­senting monetary awards.

Following this, at Basic Education High School No 1 in Taungmyo Ward, the Chief Minister and party observed students studying in the class­rooms and the library, and the vaccination of the students. Donations were made to sup­port the library, and monetary awards were presented to teachers.

Then, he visited the ancient and historical Pawgyo Muht­aw Pagoda in the Bawgyo vil­lage-tract and donated funds for the overall renovation of the pagoda. — Maung Maung Than (Taunggyi)/MKKS
