Both sides are expediting efforts to ensure the successful and timely implementation of projects and agreements under the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor.

 

THE high-level Myanmar delegation led by Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who was in the Republic of Kazakh­stan during his working visit at the invitation of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, left the Astana Airport of Kazakh­stan for the Republic of the Un­ion of Myanmar by the special aircraft yesterday morning.

The aircraft landed at the Kunming Airport in Kunming, People’s Republic of China. For a while, they were warmly welcomed by Mr Hu Dapeng, Member of the Standing Com­mittee of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Yunnan Pro­vincial Committee, and Special Envoy for Southeast Asian Af­fairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Mr Deng Xiju and of­ficials.

 

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Member of the Standing Com­mittee of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Yunnan Pro­vincial Committee held a meet­ing at the airport lounge. They openly exchanged views on en­hancing the firm kinship rela­tions of neighbouring countries between China and Myanmar and trustful friendly countries, provision of aid from China to Myanmar whenever the latter experienced natural disasters including earthquakes, and further plans to provide aid to Myanmar, thorough coopera­tion between the two countries in forging peace and stability in China-Myanmar border re­gion, cooperation in combating cross-border crimes, speedy and successful implementation for projects and agreements in the China-Myanmar economic cor­ridor, promotion of relations and trade between Myanmar, Yun­nan Province of China, and fur­ther promotion of cooperation in benefiting the two countries and peoples.

 

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and party left for the Republic of the Union of Myanmar by the spe­cial aircraft. They were seen off at the airport by the Member of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Yunnan Provincial Commit­tee and the party. — MNA/TTA
