THE process of extending the Certificate of Identity-CI will be lengthened until 16 January for last round in Thailand, the Department of Labour announced.

The expansion of the operation period aims not to lose job opportunities for Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand, as there are people who are left after paid for the CI extension at 7-Eleven stores, it said.

The CI extension was initially scheduled to end by 31 December 2025 but it has been now extended to 16 January 2026 for remaining people.

There are four CI issuing stations in Thailand’s Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Chiang Mai and Surat Thani and one mobile unit in Krabi. Myanmar migrant workers are urged to do the CI extension before the deadline. — MT/ZS
