THE Department of Sports and Physical Education, in col­laboration with the Myanmar Lethwei Federation, organ­ized the Club-Level Myanmar Lethwei Tournaments and the SEA Games Muay Assessment Matches yesterday at Theinbyu Gymnasium in Mingala Taung­nyunt Township, Yangon. The event featured eight draw bouts, three of which ended in victo­ries.

 

In the three-round bouts, La Min (Smart Fight) fought Mike Kae Lay (Ray); Ye Min Aung (Smart Fight) faced Moe Kyoe (Nagar Marn); Htet Myat (Wan Wan) competed against Pyae Phyo Aung (Tiger King); Zin Bo Aung (Nget Aw San) faced One Star (Ray); Naing Lin Soe (MK 1) went up against Naing Zin Oo (Tiger King); Tike Moung (White Blood) fought Myo Jet Khaung (Wan Wan); Nga Mike Thar (Nget Aw San) competed with Saw Maung Nge (Wan Wan); and Kyaw Naing Tun (White Blood) fought Kyar Thit Aung (MFC). All matches show­cased strong punches, powerful strikes, and effective counters, resulting in exciting draws.

 

In the later bouts, Kyaw Myat Naing (Taw Win Ayeyar) lost to Hein Wai Soe (Nget Aw San) due to an inferior perfor­mance, while Kaung Htet Zaw (STL) defeated Yan Paing Soe (YMA) with a decisive knock­down in the second round.

 

In the women’s Muay as­sessment match for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, Eliz­abeth (Federation) defeated Shwe Thet Htar (Taw Win Ay­eyar) on points. The chairmen of the Myanmar Traditional Boxing Federation and the Myanmar Muay Federation, U Wunna, awarded trophies and cash prizes to the outstanding boxers. — Arkar Linn/KZL
