Kyaukpadaung 3 October

A concrete bridge near Kine village, located between the 51/6 and 51/7 mileposts on the Kyaukpadaung-Meiktila Road, collapsed this morning due to erosion, leading to a temporary traffic closure at approximately 10:45 a.m.

The collapse was caused by flooding from the Kyatmauktaung Dam spillway, which began overflowing on September 30 at 9 a.m., submerging the road. The bridge measuring 22 feet in length and 10 feet in width on the Meiktila side collapsed and traffic was temporarily shut down.

Hence, members of Township Fire Services Department and Myanmar Police Force provided necessary assistance to the passers-by. Under the guidance of Chairperson of the Township Management and Administration Committee, efforts are being made to construct a bailey bridge by the responsible people led by the township officer of the Township Department of Road Development.
