Officials from the Department of Rural Development (DRD) in Twantay Township, Yangon Region, conducted a field inspection this morning of ongoing rural bridge construction works in Aingyi Village. The project aims to facilitate the efficient and cost-effective transport of agricultural, livestock, and other rural products to markets.

The inspection team, led by U Aung Thet Oo, District Head of the Twantay District DRD, along with the Township DRD Staff Officer and engineering personnel, reviewed the construction of a rural road measuring 4.09 furlongs in length, 12 feet in width, and 9 inches in thickness. The team also inspected the progress of two SLab culvert bridges being built along the route, as well as associated infrastructure works.

Following the inspection, the District Head met with local elders and members of the village road construction committee. He emphasized the importance of completing the project within the designated timeframe and in accordance with quality and engineering

standards. Necessary coordination and adjustments were discussed based on input received during the visit.

The road and two bridges in Aingyi Village are being constructed with an allocation of Ks228.1 million from the Yangon Region Government under the 2025–2026 fiscal year budget. The project is being implemented with close technical support and supervision from engineering staff of the District and Township DRD offices.— Cho Than Nyunt (DRD)
