FOLLOWING the completion of a counter-terrorism opera­tion by the Tatmadaw (Armed Forces) to ensure peace and stability for the public and the subsequent regaining of full control over Hsipaw Township, Shan State (North), intensive and timely recovery work is be­ing carried out. These efforts focus on restoring the govern­ment’s administrative machin­ery, enabling children to contin­ue their education, reinstating public healthcare services, and undertaking general rehabilita­tion tasks.

 

To ensure that the educa­tional sector for students in and around Hsipaw is not adversely affected, and to facilitate the smooth operation of public health services, members of the Tatmadaw, the Myanmar Police Force, the Fire Services Depart­ment, departmental staff, and residents today carried out joint cleaning and sanitation work at No 3 Basic Education High School and the People’s Hospi­tal in Hsipaw.

 

Furthermore, student en­rolment for school-age children commenced at No 1 Basic Ed­ucation High School in Hsipaw.

 

In addition, since 21 Octo­ber, No 1 Basic Education High School in Hsipaw has been ac­cepting school-age children ac­cording to their Grades. Today, 607 more students have been enrolled, resulting in the total number of students to 719. The students who enrolled were given free textbooks, station­ery and supplies provided by the Ministry of Education, and departmental officials are pro­viding necessary assistance.

 

Immigration and Popula­tion has opened a temporary branch office at the Konedaw Pariyatti Teaching Monastery in Hsipaw. They have begun operations to verify household registrations for the local ethnic people and to process citizen­ship scrutiny cards. Security forces are also undertaking mine-clearance operations at departmental offices and are­as heavily used by the public throughout Hsipaw.

 

Security forces are continu­ing their area security and dom­inance duties to ensure the long-term development and stability of Hsipaw Township, allowing the local ethnic residents to re­sume their social and economic activities peacefully. — MNA/ MKKS
