Paukkaung, 13 October

Paukkaung Township in Bago Region has successfully completed the cultivation of 59,164 acres of rain-fed paddy for this year, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.

Farming remains the primary livelihood for most residents in the area. Thanks to the irrigation support from the Taungnawin Reservoir, the township was able to meet its seasonal planting target by 9 October.

To further support local farmers, the Township Agriculture Department is conducting regular field inspections and providing essential agricultural equipment, along with training in modern farming techniques. These efforts are aimed at encouraging cultivation beyond the targeted acreage and improving overall crop yields.— Phone Kyaw Zin (IPRD)
