THE Myanmar Ports Authority issued a mariners' notice to avoid crossing under the bridge within the designated area while the form traveller is being removed from the Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) Bridge Project.
The form traveller, which was used in the installation of steel cables, is scheduled to be dismantled on 17-20 September.
"The bridge will undergo the process of dismantling the form traveller from 8 am on 17 September to 8 am on 18 September, and from 8 am on 19 September to 8 am on 20 September. So, a mariner's notice is issued to avoid undercrossing in the area designated in paragraph 3," the MPA said.
The installation of steel suspension cables at the Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge (Dala) project was completed at the end of August, and the removal of the form traveller.
Buoys with radar reflectors installed on both upper and lower river sides of the pillars can be traced easily with a radar system, and they have been placed according to the coordinates for safe crossing.
The bridge is 160 feet high and 998 feet wide, allowing the passage of ocean liners and local large vessels, and approach roads and ramps are constructed in accordance with international standards. — Htun Htun/ZN
