An educational talk focusing on disaster preparedness was held at the community center of the Township Information and Public Relations Department in Taungoo, Bago Region, on the morning of 1 July. The event was jointly organized by the District Disaster Management Department, the Information and Public Relations Department, and the Basic Education Department.

U Kyaw Swar Htwe, Assistant Director of the Taungoo District Disaster Management Department, provided detailed guidance on how to prepare for and respond to natural disasters such as floods, strong winds, and earthquakes. He emphasized both preventive measures and actions to take during emergencies.

Following this, Daw Khin Mumu Win, Staff Officer of the Township Information and Public Relations Department, explained the necessary steps to follow when a flood warning is issued.

To further promote public awareness, the Information and Public Relations Department displayed educational books aimed at helping students gain knowledge on disaster preparedness and safety.— Khin Khin Mar (IPRD)
