A ceremony to provide stationery to flood-hit schools was held at the meeting room of General Administration Department in Sintgaing Township of Mandalay Region at 1:00 pm on September 25.
Due to water levels of Zawgyi, Panlaung and Duwadi rivers rises form continuous rain, eight Basic Education Schools were submerged in the Township. Major Pyae Phyo Aung, Acting Chairman of the Township Administration Body, the Township Acting Administrator U Kyaw Kyaw Lin and members, U Nyan Soe, staff officer of the Township Department of Population and Immigration, members of Social Organizations, U Thein Han, the Township Deputy Education Officer, teachers and students from flood-affected schools attended the event.
During the event, Major Pyae Phyo Aung, acting chairman of the Township Administration Body delivered an opening speech. Afterwards, officials provided six types of stationery including 500 dozens of notebooks, 450 dozens of rough notebooks, 275 compass boxes, 325 dozens of Pencil boxes, 100 boxes of comet pens and 130 dozens of rulers, worth Ks 5.4 million, to the students from flood-hit schools.
Afterwards, U Myint Thein, head of Sawye high school spoke words of thanks to officials on behalf of teachers from flood-hit schools in the Township.—Kyaw Swar(Sintgaing)
