Drugs seized in some townships

Police members from Taunggyi Myoma Police Station intercepted a motorcycle driven by Thu Rein Soe on Taunggyi-Mongping Road near Bankwe Village in Taunggyi Township, Shan State on 14 April and seized 4750 stimulant tablets from him, according to the information released by the Myanmar Police Force.

In a similar incident, Policemen from Anti-Drug Squad searched a vehicle driven by Than Kyaw Zaw on the road in Pashan Ward in Tachilek, Shan State on 14 April and confiscated heroin weighing 14 kilos worth K 224.0 million and a mobile phone from him.

The authorities filed charges against the two under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MPF
