MYANMAR Embassy in Japan said it has been approved for issuing new passports for children born to Myanmar parents, and they can contact it during office hours.

Among applications for issuing birth registration and new passports for children born to Myanmar parents living in Japan, the embassy said it has been granted approval from the respective ministry for more than 40 children.

The 42 eligible children can proceed with the consular process, it said. For this, parents will have to provide a copy of the resident permit cards of the parents and the child, a copy of unexpired passports of the parents, an original receipt of the application fee paid to the embassy for the child's passport and birth certificate in Japan and an original document for the tax paid by one of the parents.
