A Chinese television production team from Guangxi, led by Mr Yang Chun, Director of the Guangxi Broadcasting and Television Bureau in Nanning, arrived in Myanmar on 11 August to shoot the documentary programme “Blooming Lacang-Mekong Heritage”. The seven-member team is collaborating with Myanmar’s audio and visual media for the production.

From 12 August, the team conducted field research and filming in Aungtha village in Lewe Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, observing clean drinking water projects under the Lacang-Mekong initiative and ongoing research activities at the Pyinmana-Yezin Forest Research Department.

In the evening of 14 August, the team visited 24 Gandhakuti buildings around the Maravijaya Buddha Image, the stupa housing stone inscriptions carved in Pali and Romanized scripts using modern tools, as well as the Mucalinda Lake and Nagayon Pagoda.

The filming will continue in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon until 19 August. Once completed, the documentary will also include footage from other Lancang-Mekong region countries and be broadcast across the region, showcasing Myanmar’s development achievements. — MNA/KZL
