A fish planting ceremony took place this morning at Kye Taing Lake in Ma Gu Kyun Village, Kangyidaunt Township, Ayeyarwady Region.

The event began with U Myint Naing, District Chief of the Fisheries Department, and U Myint Aung, Chairman of the Township Administration Body, officially handing over various fish species to the relevant officials. Following the handover, U Myint Naing, U Myint Aung, Daw Win Win Than, Staff Officer of the Township Fisheries Department, along with departmental staff, local authorities, and residents, jointly released fingerlings into Kyunchaung Creek—connected to Kyun Ka Zan Upper Lake and Kyun Chaung Lake.

The ceremony aimed to enhance local fish stocks, support fish production, and contribute to food security in the Township. A total of 15,000 fingerlings, comprising 7,500 rohu and 7,500 swamp barbs, were released into the expansive waters of Kye Taing Lake.— Kyaw Zin Soe (IPRD)
