Minbu 25 September
Due to the impact of Typhoon “RAGASA”, torrential downpours hit Minbu(Sagu) Township, Magway Region caused flash flood from Mann Creek starting from the evening of September 24, leading to inundation in the low-lying areas in the township.
The continuous rainfall triggered on September 20 caused overflow of Sarpwak Creek and Mann Creek and water inundated in low-lying areas. Under the guidance of Township Disaster Management Committee, District and members of emergency rescue team from Township Departments of Fire Services, philanthropic organizations and local residents removed the households in the flood-affected areas to safety places and provided necessary assistance to the flood victims.
There were no casualties in the incident and the acreage of farmland destroyed by the flood is being surveyed. In addition, arrangements are being made to provide necessary assistance to the flood victims in a timely manner.
