A four-lane highway that connects ASEAN Road section and Pyin Oo Lwin-Nawnghkio and Myitnge-Htonebo was inaugurated yesterday.
The opening ceremony which was held at the milepost 19/0 on Pyin Oo Lwin-Nawnghkio road and Myitnge-Htonebo roads was graced by the Regional Chief Minister.
“These two parts are important to connect with ASEAN Road section. A good connectivity in Mandalay will help ensure investment development and tourism industry” said Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Mandalay Region Chief Minister.
The road developed by Oriental Highway Company is 48 feet wide and it is of asphalt type. The construction of Myitnge-Htonebo cost a fund of K 19 billion whereas that of Mandalay-Pyin Oo Lwin cost K 85 billion.
These roads connected with ASEAN road section will facilitate the swift flow of commodity and the new project which is a construction New Mandalay Resort near Pyin Oo Lwin (Anesakhan) will bring about regional development.
