Four men were injured in bear attacks on Monday morning in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture, in northern Japan.

Police said the incidents occurred on a road, in a hotel parking lot and elsewhere in the central part of the city between 5 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. The four men were reportedly bitten or scratched.

As of 4:30 p.m., a bear was still inside the home of one of the victims. Police and others set up a box trap near the house to capture the animal and are continuing to stay on alert.
