Kangyidaunt, 13 August
A groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new reinforced concrete (RCC) two-storey school building was held on the morning of 12 August at Takongyi Basic Education High School in Takongyi Village, Kangyidaunt Township, Pathein District, Ayeyarwady Region.
The new building will measure 100 feet in length and 30 feet in width. It is being constructed by San Alin Thit Company, which secured the project for the 2025–2026 fiscal year with a successful bid of Ks584.505 million.
The ceremony was attended by Region Education Officer U Khin Maung Htwe, Township Administrator U Myint Aung, Township Education Officer Daw Khin Thet Naing, the headmistress and teachers of Takongyi B.E.H.S., students, representatives from the construction company, members of the school board of trustees, and local residents.
As part of the ceremony, officials planted flags on the designated construction site, sprinkled scented water, and posed for a commemorative group photo.— Kyaw Zin Soe (IPRD)
