In addition, the park also receives foreign tourists, with most international visitors arriving from China.
THE officer in charge of Hlawga Park (Yangon) told The Global New Light of Myanmar (GNLM) that the park sees up to 5,000 visitors during public holidays.
According to the official, while the park receives around 500 visitors daily from Monday to Friday, that number surges to approximately 5,000 during the weekends.
“Since there are many public holidays this month, the number of visitors to Hlawga Park has increased on those days. On Saturdays and Sundays, we see between 2,000 and 3,000 visitors. From Monday to Friday, the numbers are usually in the hundreds – around 300, 500, or 700 people. However, on major public holidays, the crowd reaches between 4,000 and 5,000 visitors,” the official explained.
Additionally, the park welcomes foreign tourists, with the majority of international visitors coming from China.
“Some visitors come specifically to see the suspension bridge or to observe where migratory birds feed and nest, depending on their interests. Those who enjoy boating come for SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding), while others come for cycling. Some foreign tourists visit simply because they want to walk along the park’s circular path,” he added.
Hlawga Park (Yangon) is divided into two main sections: the Mini Zoo and the Safari Park. As a popular public recreation spot, the park is open daily from 8 am to 5 pm with no closing days. Entry fees are K4,000 for adults, K2,500 for children, and K1,000 for buggy service. — MT/ZN
