UNION Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and for Ho­tels and Tourism, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, met with officials and hoteliers from the Myanmar Hoteliers Association (PyinOoL­win Zone) yesterday morning at Shwe Nan Htike Hotel in Py­inOoLwin.

 

During the meeting, the Un­ion minister highlighted that PyinOoLwin is a well-known hill resort in Myanmar. Its cool cli­mate, blooming gardens, scenic natural beauty, historic pagodas, and local food and souvenirs make it a unique tourist des­tination. He emphasized that the region has great potential for ecotourism, cultural tour­ism, religious tourism, art and education tourism, leisure tour­ism, sports tourism, adventure tourism, health and wellness tourism, heritage tourism, and agro-tourism. The Union min­ister stressed the importance of leveraging these strengths to benefit the tourism industry and offered solutions based on entrepreneurs’ business pres­entations.

 

He then visited Hotel Akim­omi and Shwe Nan Htike Hotel

 

in PyinOoLwin to review their operations and offer recommen­dations on business improve­ments.

 

Afterwards, Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Chair­man of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, along with officials, visited the PyinOoLwin District Stadium and the gymnasium. They discussed with local of­ficials ways to further develop sports in the region and nurture a new generation of athletes.

 

They also met with tempo­rarily displaced employees and residents, providing them with essential supplies to improve their living conditions, trans­portation, and access to food. — MNA/TH
