HOTEL and motel rooms have already been fully booked for the Taunggyi Tazaungdine Festival, and the visitor arrival is expected to be large, according to sources from the tourism industry.
"According to hoteliers, all rooms are already booked," said an official from the Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA).
Bookings have already been made for Tazaungdine since before the Thadingyut Festival, and due to no available rooms left, residents have now rented out their bungalows and separate houses for short stays, and some people have planned to stay in Kalaw and Nyaungshwe.
In addition to Taunggyi, bookings have been large for Tazaungdine holiday in PyinOoLwin, Inle, Bagan, Chaungtha and Ngwehsaung as well, he said.
In this year's Thadingyut, the local visitor arrival was larger than that of last year, and there is also a likelihood of an increase in the local visitor arrival in the coming Tazaungdine Festival.
The 2025 Taunggyi Tazaungdine traditional hot-air balloon festival will be celebrated from 29 October to 5 November at Ahweiya hot-air balloon ground. — MT/ZS
