An opening ceremony of a rural bridge linking two village-tracts was held at the bridge in Thabaung Township, Ayeyawady Region on Sunday.

           

On the occasion, the Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Thein Tun made an opening speech and leader of the technical advisory body of the township community driven development project U Han Min Soe briefed matters relating to the bridge.  Next, the bridge was formally opened by the Pyithu Hluttaw MP, the regional lawmaker U Aung Aung Oo, the leader of the technical advisory body of the township community driven development project and an official from the township development committee by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.

The inter-village bridge is of concrete type and measures 110 ft. in length, 10 ft. in width and 17 ft. in height. The facility was built with about Ks. 16 million funded by the DRD under its “Village Development Plan” and donated by local people.—Myo Zaw Thein (IPRD)
