Rising water levels in the Irrawaddy River have caused flooding in low-lying areas and riverside homes in Kamma Township, Magway Region.
Led by U Zaw Min Naing, Chairman of the Township Administration Body, teams from the General Administration Department, the Township Police Force, Fire Services Department, Development Committee, and ward administrators are actively conducting field inspections, providing relief and rescue assistance, and arranging temporary shelters for affected residents.
As of yesterday evening, floodwaters had entered homes in Ward-2 and nearby areas. A total of 244 people from 58 households have been evacuated to safer locations, where temporary accommodation has been arranged for them.— Kyaw Zeya Win (Kanma)
