Japan's health ministry confirmed 794 new cases of the coronavirus in Tokyo on Thursday.
The figure is down 158 from a week earlier.
The number of seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines was eight, the same as the previous day.
Five deaths from the virus were reported in the capital.
Nationwide, 9,834 new infections and 80 deaths were confirmed on Thursday.
