THE flower festival was held in front of the park yesterday morning to develop the tourism sector at the Maw Myay Oo Park in Kalaw Township for the first time.
At the opening ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung addressed the flower festival displays local and foreign flower species, the festival uses orchid gardens and many types of flowers to create beautiful landscapes, there is a library for visitors to relax and read books and many places to take beautiful photos and a sports field as well as children’s playgrounds with local food stalls, so tourists and flower lovers from all over the region visit and enjoy the Kalaw Flower Festival for free.
Then, the state chief minister, the Military Commander, the acting Commandant of the Command and General Staff College, the state minister for Transport and respective officials cut the ribbon to open the flower festival.
Afterwards, the chief minister and the commander presented awards to the band and ethnic cultural troupes that performed at the opening ceremony, and toured the flower festival.
