A ceremony to donate Kathina robes for 2024 to Maravijaya Monas­tery took place in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Image’s park in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory yesterday morning, attended by Chairman of the State Adminis­tration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla.

 

The Senior General offered alms in the alm bowl, fruits, flow­ers, and water to the Buddha Im­age in the monastery.

 

The Senior General viewed round Kathina robes, alms and articles of offering on tree-shaped stands to be donated to Maravi­jaya Monastery.

 

The Senior General and his wife donated Kathina robes and alms to Lewe Paukmyaing Mon­astery Presiding Patron Abhidha­ja Maharatthaguru Bhaddanta Janinda and Abbot of Maravijaya Monastery Sayadaw Aggamaha Pandita Bhaddanta Neminda.

 

SAC Vice-Chairman Depu­ty Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe also of­fered Kathina robes and alms to East Intha Monastery of Lewe Sayadaw Abhidhaja Aggamaha Saddhammajotika Bhaddamnta Pandita.

 

The Secretary and his wife, the Joint Secretary and his wife,

 

council members, and Union ministers also presented Kathi­na and offerings to members of the Sangha.

 

Presiding Patron of Pyinma­na Pali Tekkatho Mingalazeyon Buddhism Learning Centre Ag­gamaha Pandita Aggamaha Sad­dhammajotikadhaja Bhaddanta Vimala Buddhi delivered a ser­mon. The congregation shared merits gained.

 

After the ceremony, the Senior General, his wife, and the congregation offered day meals to members of the Sangha led by Paukmyaing Sayadaw. — MNA/ TTA
